Manuscripts submitted to the editorial office for publication are subject to mandatory review (internal and / or external). The editorial board of the journal provides a "blind" review, which preserves the anonymity of both the author and the reviewer.

The reviewer is a specialist who has scientific publications, which is refered to the subject matter of the manuscript that is being criticized.

The preliminary evaluation of manuscripts is carried out by the members of the editorial board, who determine the scientific value of the article as well as, the relevance of the topic of the journal. The editorial board decides to reject the submitted materials or refer them to the review. Rejected manuscripts are not returned and are not subject to review. The editor-in-chief and his deputy appoint one or two reviewers, internal among the members of the editorial board or external.

The external reviewer is not a member of the editorial board and is not an employee of the institution where the journal is published. An external reviewer can be any person who sends an application to the editorial office. The decision on acceptance or rejection of the services of the external reviewer who submitted the application for review of the articles is approved by the editor-in-chief or his deputy.

The texts of the reviewed articles can not be transmitted for familiarization or discussion to other persons not authorized by the editorial board.

Terms of reviewing is no more than two weeks.

When reviewing manuscripts, the following criteria are taken into account:

• the author's contribution to the study of the mentioned problem;

• the use of methodological and theoretical approaches;

• the acquaintance of the author with the historiography of the scientific problem being investigated;

• the completeness and adequate interpretation of historical sources used by the author;

• the clarity of the definition of the main thesis of the article;

• the persuasiveness of the arguments;

• the validity of conclusions;

• the absence of plagiarism as well as borrowing without proper citation.

The reviewer may express his own comments and recommendations to the text of the manuscript. The review notes the possibility of publication in the journal: "The article may be published without changes / after taking into account editorial changes / after full rewriting and re-review" or "the article is not entitled to print."

Reviews, signed by the reviewer with the usual signature, certified by the seal of the institution where the reviewer works, or by electronic signature, are kept in the editorial board for three years.

The editorial board may send reviewers' comments to the authors in their entirety if they do not contain abusive or defamatory remarks.

The editorial board reserves the right to coordinate the position of reviewers with regard to acceptance or rejection of manuscripts and to make a final decision on the publication of the manuscript.

In the case of admission of the manuscript to publication, the editorial board informs the author of this.

Unpublished / rejected articles may not be used by reviewers, editor-in-chief, members of the editorial board for personal purposes or transferred to other persons without the written permission of the author.
